About Blue River Baptist Church

Pastor Joel Butler has served as pastor of Blue River Baptist Church for the past three years and has been a member of the church since 2014. He has a deep passion for evangelism and for teaching God’s Word with clarity and enthusiasm. Joel enjoys digging into the details of Scripture and continually growing in his understanding so he can faithfully share what he learns with others.

Outside of ministry, he enjoys astronomy and often uses his telescope to show others how “the heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1). Joel has been married to his wife, Lauren, for over 11 years, and together they are grateful to be raising their two children while serving the Lord and their church family.
